HAINES AND NEAL CHAT ALL THINGS WORLDSBK

EUROSPORT WORLDSBK COMMENTATOR GREG HAINES JOINS DAVE NEAL FOR A CHAT ABOUT ALL THINGS WORLDSBK

It's a conversation show this week as Eurosport's World Superbike commentator, Greg Haines, joins our host Dave Neal for a look at the season so far in the world's premier production racing series. As seems to have become custom for the pair, the interview is conducted in our mobile studio (Dave's car) while parked up in the wilds of Warwickshire. Parked up publicly in the car park of a local cafe, that is!

Greg and Dave discuss a whole range of subjects surrounding the 2021 WorldSBK Championship including the pressure that is being exerted on Jonathan Rea by both Toprak and Scott Redding as the gap decreases significantly post-Most. Speaking of Most, they take a look at the circuit and the races within, with credit where it's due and none where it isn't...

As well as the action on-track at Most, Greg tells us how much he's enjoying the company of his new co-commentor, double World Superbike champion James Toseland. JT is covering for usual co-commentator, James Whitham, when the WorldSBK broadcast overlaps the BSB coverage that 'Whit' is also a regular voice on. The former MotoGP rider brings a fresh angle to the broadcast and isn't shy to express his feelings when he believes a rider deserves them.

Interestingly the fellas discuss safety within racing and the efforts that the race organisers go too to make proceedings as safe as possible while the spectre of the uncontrollable remains ever-present. It's something that needed to be discussed and with a tip of the hat to those that have to make sometimes unpopular decisions and the decisions of riders therein.

It's an enjoyable conversation, which is a step away from the regular interview format, and something that will pass the time quickly on your next journey or the impending dog walk.
