IT'S LADIES DAY AT RICH ENERGY OMG RACING YAMAHA

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

CHLOE JONES AND LISSY WHITMORE JOIN RICH ENERGY OMG RACING YAMAHA FOR 2022 SEASON

Chloe Jones

RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha is delighted to announce the signing of Chloe Jones and Lissy Whitmore as team riders for 2022. After travelling to Cartagena with the team in early December the ladies join the team to contest the Pirelli Junior Superstock Championship and the British Junior Supersport Championship respectively, both on Yamaha machinery.

After a rollercoaster year in the Junior Supersport class, Chloe Jones will step up to the Pirelli Junior Superstock Championship aboard a RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha R6. The 18-year-old from Daventry got the opportunity to ride her new machine in Spain before Christmas and immediately got to grips with the obvious weight and power difference to her Yamaha R3. Understanding the challenge of the season ahead, Chloe and the team are confident of making strong progress within the highly competitive class.

Lissy Whitmore

Lincolnshire’s Lissy Whitmore continues to develop within the Junior Supersport class. After successfully gathering silverware through EMRA, NGRRC, and Thundersport championships, the 18-year-old from Bourne stepped up into British Championship racing in 2021 but unfortunately endured a difficult time. With the full support of RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha for 2022, Lissy has all the tools she needs to make her mark in British championship racing as she embarks on a full season in the HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship aboard a Yamaha R3.

Chloe said, “Firstly, I just want to say a massive thank you to the RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha team for allowing me to ride for the team this year. It’s an amazing feeling to have the full support of a British Superbike team behind me as we make the step into the Pirelli Junior Superstock Championship aboard

the awesome Yamaha R6. It’s going to be a season with a lot of learning but I’m ready for the challenge and really excited to get going!

Lissy continued, “I’m incredibly grateful to RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha for giving me the opportunity to ride for them in the HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship on the beautiful Yamaha R3. It’s really exciting to see where the journey takes us and after the difficulties of 2021 the whole thing is like a breath of fresh air. Roll on testing and then round one so we can really get stuck in!

Team Principal, Paul Curran added, “It’s important to support and encourage female racers in our sport and as a team we’ve committed to that with our continued development of Chloe and now even further by bringing Lissy into the fold. Chloe and Lissy become full team members for ’22, not just ‘supported’ riders and that’s really important for the development of their undoubted talent but also their experience within motorcycle racing as a whole. Many riders don’t join a team environment for many seasons, so to get them both on board as RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha riders is important to us all. We’re excited to see them learn and improve through the season and be there to help them deal with the challenges that racing will inevitably produce.”
