TRUE HEROES RACING AND THE SIDECAR PAIR OF REEVES AND ROUSSEAU WERE IN ACTION OVER THE WEEKEND AT SILVERSTONE AND IN FRANCE
Our RICH Energy Ambassadors were once again in action this weekend as Tim Reeves and Kevin Rousseau continued their punishing Sidecar schedule across Europe, this time in France, and the True Heroes Racing team were out in force at Silverstone for Round 8 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. We’re proud of the efforts and endeavours of our ambassadors, they often don’t take the easy route and for that they make us proud before the results even come in.
True Heroes Racing had almost a full compliment of riders available for the Silverstone Round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship last weekend. With Dave Sellers and Dave Mackay on the Pirelli National Superstock Suzuki GSX-R1000 machines, Mike Long and Ben Falla contesting the Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup and young Harrison Mackay learning his trade in the ultr-competitive Honda British Talent Cup, it was a busy weekend for the team.
Helping wounded, sick and injured servicemen and women with a focus and a goal towards their rehabilitation, the team are widely respected in the racing paddock. Across the weekend the Ducati pair of Mike Long and Ben Falla pushed hard to improve their results. Lap times dropped and come race one, the boys were ready. After an eventful 15 laps, Falla took the flag just outside the points in 17th with Mike not too far behind in 22nd. Race 2 on Sunday, late afternoon post-BSB drama, the riders once again lined up on the grid. A crash early in the race saw the red flag brought out, ultimately leading to a six-lap dash to the finish once the race was restarted. Once again Ben came home in 17th and Mike losing out on improving his finishing position from race one in 23rd.
There are usually two riders in the Pirelli National Superstock events but unfortunately for Dave Mackay it was all over after Free Practice 1 and took no further part in proceedings leaving Sellers as the lone recruit. Two solid race finishes for Sellers gave the Lincolnshire man a shot of confidence as the series heads into its final three rounds. Sellars stepson, Harrison Mackay, also took on two races as the Honda British Talent Cup continues to roll on. Learning his trade in his first season on the Honda NSF250, Mackay improves session on session, weekend on weekend in the tough ‘Road to MotoGP’ series. 17th and 19th belie the progress the youngster is making with point-scoring finishes the target before the season ends.
Sidecar duo Tim Reeves and Kevin Rousseau continued their European Tour in France last weekend as the F2 Sidecar got another outing, this time at Pole Mecanique Ales Cevennes (no, us neither…). A win in the opening F2 race was a taste of what was likely to come on the Sunday, but a technical issue dashed all hopes of a double, leaving the pair 7th in race 2. The next stop on the Reeves/Rousseau European Tour is Hockenheim, Germany.
This weekend sees the return of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship with Croft, North Yorkshire as the destination and the RICH Energy-backed Adrian Flux with Power Maxed Racing team will be keen to climb onto the podium once again while Alvaro Bautista heads to Circuit de Catalunya, Spain where he’ll be hoping his form in Magny Cours will continue in front of his home fans.
